With any runway fashion show that is seen by the public, there is a level of analysis that should be done. We are all aware with the fact that each fashion show is either opened with super dramatic pieces or the: major influential set points to what will be foreseen. In Carven’s spring summer set, the show is opened with very modern pieces in that they utilize bold structures and simplistic colors. Eventually we see the pull of more textures into the pieces. Little hints of snake skin on the detailing of modern shaped pockets. We see texture that is housed by bold modern panels to control these amazing and unique patterns. Snaps to Carven! Towards the middle of the show we start to see, the use of the stereotypical flight attendant from the late 60’s. The fact that Carven did this is intriguing in that in YSL’s mens spring/summer 2015 wear we see pieces constructed solely upon what looks like WW2 uniforms. The accessories for most of the men cleating down the runway are modern metallic rounded sunglasses. The interconnectedness of modern pieces and constructions mixed with throwbacks from a while ago just brings forth the fact that trends ALWAYS come back and studying older fashion is still relevant.
